In a world where children often prioritize entertainment apps over learning, we risk raising a generation lacking essential skills, potentially becoming a burden to their families and society. Our co-founder, Samson Opaleye, struggled with Instagram addiction in his mid-30s, highlighting the challenge today’s children face, especially with emerging trends like Augmented Reality Gaming. This inspired us to create Applatch Kids, committed to helping millions of children enhance their educational performance by reducing tech distractions. Our mission is to foster a world where children learn before they play, contributing to a more knowledgeable and productive society.
The Applatch Kids app supports children’s academic growth by requiring them to pass educational quizzes before unlocking entertainment apps. This ensures learning comes first, balancing education and leisure time effectively.
Parents install the app on their children’s tablets or smartphones, locking entertainment apps throughout the day. To unlock these apps, children must complete quizzes, with a passing score granting one hour of access, up to a maximum of 3 hours per day. Each quiz contains 15 questions covering Maths, English, and Science. Parents also receive weekly reports via email on their children’s educational progress.
Based in Sheffield, our founders Samson Opaleye (CEO) and Aliyu Odumosu (CTO) are driven by a vision to help millions of children globally balance learning and screen time every day.
We have achieved over 100% month-on-month revenue growth since our launch in July 2024. We’ve also grown to over 5,800 families using Applatch Kids, with children completing a total of more than 50,000 quizzes.
Applatch Kids is available on both App Store and Play Store!
